Moorings For Sale at Port Vauban

Moorings For Sale at Port Vauban

January 2022 saw the start of the new leases known as Guarantee of Use Contracts (CGU) which have replaced the leasehold contracts that have been in place for half a century.

Zen Yachting explains the different Quays at Port Vauban and some of the berth options for sale.

Port Vauban Yacht Berths

The Mole Sud Quay, in the middle of Port Vauban, is by far the most popular quay. Berth owners love the fact they can easily park their car in front of their boat on this private quay, thanks to the access barrier which only allows berth owners to park here. It’s also nearby to the Antibes old town and the cafés and restaurants, so you can easily stroll across the esplanade. Logistically, it’s also convenient to get fuel delivered easily as well as any other supplies or provisions your boat may need.

For the last 50 years, the Mole Sud Quay has been home to 23m x 6m berths with a few 15m x 5m berths at the top end of the quay. As of January 2022 – and for at least the next 21 years – the right-hand side will now host 22 category U berths which are 28.99m x 7m. This is very appealing to boat owners looking to upgrade in size, whilst staying on their favourite quay.

Geoffrey W. has just signed up to buy the very last berth on the end of the Mole Sud which is a Category T2 berth 23.99m x 6m: ‘’When Jo from Zen Yachting told me this berth was available to buy, I jumped at the chance as it’s a unique berth and one of the best locations in Port Vauban. I have a beautiful view of the Fort Carré as well as easy access in and out of the marina. Even though I’m only a stroll away from the Old Town, the location is extremely tranquil, and we love sitting in the cockpit enjoying the sunset in the evenings.’

The different Quays in Port Vauban

The signing up to buy the new Port Vauban leases which started on January 2022 has shown how owners really feel at home in their chosen areas on different quays and are very reluctant to move elsewhere.

Jo Long, Founder of Zen Yachting says, “I sold 5 new Guarantee of Use contracts on the Mole Sud Quay, starting in January 2022. All of these buyers had their boats there for years and would not con-sider moving to another quay.”

Although the Mole Sud Quay remains the most popular and now with the introduction of twenty-two new 28.99m berths, other quays are equally as appealing.

The old Port with its proximity to the old town and the Gravette beach has also seen the introduc-tion of bigger berths along the old wall : Categories U, V and W which are up to 39m are now availa-ble in this popular area at Port Vauban.

Quay One and Two remain very popular, especially thanks to their hammer heads at the end of each quay offering totally tranquil areas but situated in the heart of the port.

Even the Mole Nord Quay which is unknown by many due to its location being a 15-minute walk from the Capitainerie has a community of faithful owners.
