Les Voiles d’Antibes

Les Voiles d’Antibes 2022

After two years of postponement and reduced activity, Les Voiles d’Antibes will re-turn to Antibes from June 1st to 5th with a schedule of shoreside concerts, educa-tional workshops, regatta racing and exhibition stands.

History of the Voiles d’Antibes
Since 1996, Les Voiles d’Antibes, organised every year around the first week of June, marks the opening of the Mediterranean circuit for Classic Yachts, where adventure and luxury come together in a sporting and friendly tradition.

The event welcomes a selection of the most beautiful vintage yachts (built before 1950), classic yachts (built before 1976) and the Spirit of Tradition Yachts (as well as the Tofinou 9.5). The event organises had an idea to create an event to celebrate yachting and sailors in Antibes.

The first edition had 15 registered yachts, and over the years attracted more yachts and visitors. In 2003, Les Voiles d’Antibes joined the Prada Challenge for Classic Yachts, which in 2005 became the Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge. In 2007, Les Voiles d’Antibes decided to exclusively welcome yachts rated by the In-ternational Mediterranean Committee (CIM). These yachts, made entirely of wood or metal, are divided into three categories: vintage, classic, and spirit of tradition.

Following the death of Mr Jacques Grima, President of the Voiles d’Antibes from 2006 to 2022, which occurred in May 2022, a special tribute will be paid to him on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 6.30 p.m., with a minute’s silence and all the boats of the Voiles d’Antibes Antibes and Port Vauban will activate their fog horns.

The 2022 Les Voiles d’Antibes
Well-known for its communal and lively atmosphere, this year’s edition is expected to return to full force. Over fifty yachts are registered for the 2022 event with yachting media and visitors expected to gather for the week at Port Vauban.

Open to the public free of charge, you’ll find plenty happening in and around Port Vauban, where the race crews relax and socialise every evening. The Village des Voiles d’Antibes on the South Môle at Port Vauban and the event zone on the Esplanade du Pré aux Pêcheurs will offer vibrant locations for downtime and discover-ing entertainment and maritime-related products and services.

Sponsors for the 2022 event include Port Vauban, Hill Robinson and Code Zero.
